Excited to be at The Mix every day. Inspired by wonderful young people & amazing supporters. Previous roles include marketing, CSR and fundraising at organisations such as Voluntary Action Councils, The Mental Health Foundation, The Body Shop and Bauer Media. Mum to two brilliant boys and Hackney School Governor.

Claire is passionate about young people having a space where they feel heard and supported. She developed a real interest in mental health after volunteering with The Mix. In Claire's spare time she likes spending time with her family and watching reality TV.

Helpline Co-ordinator

It's Sian's job to support The Mix's incredible volunteers on the Helpline. Sian feels passionately about the power of a listening ear and believes that absolutely nobody deserves to feel alone. Sian's hobbies include letter-writing, hearty vegan cooking, hiking, and long chats with pals over tea/wine!

Brianna is Helpline Coordinator at the Mix. When she's not working, she's meeting clients as a counsellor trainee, doing yoga or walking by the lake with her partner. She enjoys a good fantasy or romance book. Some of her favourite shows are Game of Thrones and Parks & Recreation.

Outside of working on The Mix's helpline, Ben enjoys advocating for young people, gaming, listening to music and watching Netflix. Within his role, Ben is fully focused on supporting volunteers to provide the best support for young people.

Cassie has worked in the charity sector, supporting young people for the past seven years. She is passionate about providing service users with a safe space to talk whilst also empowering them. In her spare time she likes to crochet and watch true crime YouTube.

Joe is passionate about supporting young people to keep themselves safe and to have their voices heard on safeguarding practices. In his downtime, Joe is a massive geek (RPGs, games and comics), but is also equally happy in wild space chancing on butterflies.

Theodora has worked in the charity sector for 12 years. She is passionate about recognising the impact volunteers make, and ensuring they have a positive and fulfilling experience. She is a huge football fan and spends most weekends either frustrated or overjoyed by her team’s performance.

I've always believed that counselling makes our world a more welcoming place for every person; providing a safe space in times of distress or difficulty whilst offering an opportunity for gaining a greater understanding of ourselves and others. I'm also passionate about cooking, basketball and road trips.

Lauren is a passionate mental health and disability activist who hopes to open her own charity combining her love for creative arts and youth participation. When she's not bringing in new counsellors, or teaching people how to use Salesforce, you’ll find Lauren playing Sims 4 or dancing to Kylie Minogue.

For over a decade, Italia has been a passionate advocate for youth voice and continues to champion young people in every area at The Mix. In her downtime, you can find this Kiwi exploring London and trying to find the perfect flat white.

Emma is the Senior Youth Voice Officer! She works across our Community and Youth Voice, making sure we're always listening to young people and supporting them to achieve their very best. When she's not working, you can find her eating amazing vegan food and caring for her houseplants.

Aife’s journey at The Mix started in 2016 as a volunteer on the discussion boards. Now she manages the online community and is passionate about supporting young people and ensuring they have a safe space to find support. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to podcasts, drawing, and travelling!

Mike has been involved with The Mix’s online community in different ways for years. He’s a massive film and video game geek, and can give you the episode title for pretty much any modern Doctor Who quote.

Gemma has an interest in early intervention and improving outcomes for young people. She joined The Mix in 2018 as a helpline volunteer and now leads the delivery of our online community. You’ll also find her volunteering, going to gigs (mainly Ed Sheeran), and supporting Liverpool.

Becky has been dedicated to raising funds for charities for the last 15 years. Seeing the difference help from a charity can make to a person’s life is what keeps her going. She enjoys reading, playing video games and is learning to crochet.

Andy looks after outreach for The Mix Connect, bringing new channels of support to students. His favourite part of the role is advocating for young people’s wellbeing, to give every young person an equal chance. Andy loves painting and aspires to be as talented and kind as his hero Bob Ross.

Bohdana is passionate about understanding and helping to change society. She collects and analyses our data to help us evaluate and improve our services. She has a great passion for gardening, garden design, hiking and running.

Holly looks after content and communications at The Mix. Her favourite part of her role is amplifying young people's voices through content and press. Holly is passionate about climate justice and trans rights. She also loves live music, running and dancing.

Emily makes things look good and is passionate about making a positive impact for young people through her designs. Emily was inspired to begin illustrating as part of her eating disorder recovery. She loves bagels, music and activism.

Marcin can make (pretty much) any code dance. Some of us suspect that he can see the world in binary - just like Neo from the matrix (Hang on... maybe he is Neo from the matrix?).

Andrew is the Deputy CEO of Dixons Carphone plc, CEO of Connected World Services and The Mix's Chair. Passionate about connected technology and a father of two, Andrew believes that The Mix has never been more relevant, helping young people get support, how and when they need it most.

Gearóid has spent his career in the energy utility industry, including 20 years at Centrica plc. He is now co-founder and CEO of AgilityEco. Gearóid joined The Mix in 2012. The energy and enthusiasm of the The Mix, and their desire to help young people inspires him every day.

Treasurer

Debbie is the Financial Director at RVU and former Commercial Finance Director at Zoopla. She took on the Treasurer role to give something back and to support youth and mental health issues. Debbie has two nieces and a nephew and wants to make their world easier to navigate.

Disha Hegde

Trustee

Disha studies History and Economics at Oxford. She sits on the Bank of England Youth Forum, where she tackles economic issues that affect young people. She is an ambassador for the National Children's Bureau and has worked on national campaigns with the British Youth Council.

Chloe Combi

Chloe is a youth expert, writer and consultant. She interviewed many young people for her book, Generation Z. Chloe is a regular on TV and radio debates and as a former teacher, cares deeply about raising young people’s voices. She brings all this insight and expertise to her role as Trustee.

Dr Tara Weeramanthri

Trustee

Tara is an honorary consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist, a family and systemic psychotherapist and former substantive NHS consultant. She developed Hope Project to support young people impacted by trauma and abuse and has contributed to national policy work in her field.

Adarsh Ramchum

Adarsh is one of The Mix's young trustees. He is a social change apprentice working at the Royal Society of Arts, whilst studying Business Management with Social Change. Adarsh is also Ark Governor for his former school. He is passionate about supporting other young people through his trustee role.

Henny Braund is the Chief Executive of the Anthony Nolan charity. She was previously Resources Director at Shelter, the housing charity and draws on 20 years of experience in the voluntary sector. She is a former Trustee for the Small Charities Coalition and was Chair for Aids and Housing.

Trustee

Vik is Director of Education at London Borough of Newham and has led initiatives with government, schools and charities. He is passionate about the role of education to promote inclusion and transform young people's lives. As a Trustee he will support The Mix’s important work with schools.

James is a Marketer with rich experience in Entertainment, Youth and Technology. He's led award-winning marketing programmes for ITV Digital, MTV and SpinVox. He has founded a Strategic Marketing Hub, and HΩΩPLONDON, and also sits on the Board of C.A.L.M.

Studying law at the University of Kent, Michael is fuelled by a passion for empowering young people to drive change. They believe that the voices of youth are vital in shaping a better future. A member of various community organisations, Michael works to foster positive change and equality.

Fatima wants to empower young people to speak and lead themselves. As a policy officer with a focus on strategy, she is keen to implement solutions to amplify young people's voices across The Mix. Fatima's hobbies include binging shows, scrolling TikTok, reading dystopian novels and shopping.

Ajay studies Business at the University of Greenwich. When he’s not volunteering for The Mix, he's the sports secretary at Greenwich Tamil Society, with aspirations to be its president. He is eager to get young people all the support they need and wishes to bring about a positive impact at The Mix.

Katie wants to break the stigma surrounding mental health and change the world for the better. She enjoys keeping busy and working hard to achieve new goals to help other people in the world. Katie is the founder of Katie Trotter Marketing and is an artist, influencer, equestrian and social media manager.

Victoria is a psychology graduate with aspirations of becoming a clinical psychologist. She's passionate about improving access to mental health services. As an ambassador for various youth organisations, she wants to amplify young people's voices and influence positive change.

Martyn is the Founder and of YouthNet (now The Mix) and spent nearly 20 years as Chair. He is now Founder-at-Large. Over 32 years as a TV journalist, he presented every mainstream national news programme on BBC and ITV, before moving into business.
