Chatwee Update

Update - There's been some technical difficulties launching Chatwee onto our website so we will not be moving to Chatwee on Thursday.

As soon as we fix this issue, we'll announce another date for launching. We're really sorry for the delay in Chatwee, thanks so much for your patience.

Post of The Month (September)

Maisy is our Post of The Month winner voted by the community for the following post:

"Hey Shaunie,

I care. I really relate to what you have been experiencing with the house falling apart, and things not getting fixed due to general shame of the state of the house and not knowing where to begin fixing things or who to contact (you don't want to come across rogue tradesmen). Not even having adequate heating and hot water. And clutter. Everywhere. It's horrible to live in such circumstances, I know. It's hard as well when you see everyone else living a 'normal' life and yet being unable to talk about your situation."

  • Hello

Hi everyone. My name's Jason. I'm 21 years old and struggling with loneliness. I think it's something that's dogged me all my life but I think it's only recently that I've really become aware of it. I try to be a happy smiley person because I genuinely love being around my friends and family, but sometimes it's hard. I'm terrified of what my friends really think of me and have no way of knowing. I'm scared that people find me annoying or boring to be around, and every day I'm not with my social group I feel like they're enjoying themselves without me and deliberately excluding me (even when I know they're not). I dunno. It's all hard to explain, but I'm laying it all out there because how else do I introduce myself to a community like this?

I'm looking for a companion, or friend, or something I guess (though whether that'll bring me closure is anyone's guess). I'm a university student and have had to experience three years of friends finding their significant others, while I've been left with no one. Heh, the amount of people I've wing-manned for, with no offers in return. Maybe I just need to be confident in my social skills in real life and meet new people, but right now, with the feelings I'm feeling now, this just seemed like a decent and safe enough place meet people.

Anyway, enough of the miserable stuff. As you can infer from my avatar I like video games and have a chill sense of humour (though I do fall towards dark and dry humour most of the time). I also love music, art and am way too obsessed about films for it to be healthy I haven't checked yet but I hope that there's a movie or music section here where I can just talk about stuff I like. If there isn't I'll probably just start one. Right, I think I've introduced myself enough now. You can find more details in my profile if you're interested. I'll shut up so people can respond.

Hi Jason! Welcome to the boards!

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with loneliness. This is actually a more common problem than people realise, so you may find that a lot of other people in this community are having the same problems that you are. Everyone is super supportive and helpful, and it is quite possible you could find some friends.

As for the positive stuff, there are some threads on movies and music! This one is where people post about the music they are listening to, and we also have a thread for a film club where people decide to watch the same movie that week.

      Hey Jason

      Welcome

I get where you are coming from. I sometimes feel the same so you're not alone with how you are feeling.

Hope we can help you feel and be, less alone.

      Take care
I dont expect anything - to just end up disappointed. But i do not have zero hope for the future cause that has only dragged me down & brung negativity. I will just not predict the future
