Helpline Volunteering

Make a difference and help someone in need.

As an on-site Helpline Volunteer at The Mix you’ll support vulnerable young people and be the missing link between their issues and the vital help that they need.

You can help young people by connecting them with an advice service, support group or sometimes even a bed for the night.

Become a helpline hero

Our volunteers are always there for young people when they feel they have nowhere else to turn.

Our on-site helplines in London and Nottingham are open seven days a week between the hours of 11am-11pm. Shifts  are split into three hour slots, please note that not all slots require additional volunteers, we’ll provide full information when you apply. If you become a helpline volunteer you’ll receive full training and all out of pocket travel expenses will be paid.

Our on-site volunteering community  helps young people in need via phone, email and web chat. Young people contact our helpline every day so why not become helpline hero and make a difference to young people’s life; it will certainly change yours.

Please note for this role you’ll require a competent level of computer literacy. If you are not confident with using a computer with multiple programmes active then please consider applying for one of our other roles.
