Should I forget my summer romance?
I met this guy on holiday in Ibiza and we just clicked. I’ve never felt so strongly about someone before. We had an amazing two week’s together but now I’m home and heartbroken. I miss him so much and think he might be The One. But he’s a rep out there and I can’t see him until at least summer is over. Should I wait for him? Or am I just being stupid and it’s a summer fling?
Our expert says:
It’s so much easier to fall in love when you’re away on holiday. Often because we’re our best selves when we’re relaxing – away from life’s stresses and strains. Also the mix of time-restraints, hot weather, how good everyone looks with a tan…it can be a potent combination.
That’s not to say all summer romances are just flings. People can form meaningful and lasting bonds on holiday. But, it’s important to test this relationship in the ‘real world’ for a while to see if the love lasts longer than the tan.
What do you think? Can summer romances last the distance? Remember, everyone’s relationship is different. There’s no right or wrong.
