Hi, I am moving all the posts from the The Mix’s sister website Madly In Love to Your Voices.

I chose a mix of songs, some where the lyrics talk about how I have felt in the past but I have been unable to speak about, and some songs where the artists sing about somebody who is down. I chose these because in the songs I can identify an individual who is in a similar position to me - whether they are the person singing or being sung about doesn't matter much to the way that I personally relate to the songs.

The playlist starts off with Basket Case, asking do you have the time to listen to me whine. Then going onto 'Welcome to my life' which was a song I used to listen to a lot when I was down - it used to speak my mind a lot and when I was younger I hoped somebody would pick up on the lyrics of the song and ask me how I felt. The playlist later moves on to songs where the artists are singing to somebody feeling down and ends with a song about not giving up or surrendering.
