Want to become a Community Ambassador for Share somewhere?

We are looking for young people aged 16-24 who currently receive Universal Credit, to take on some new jobs with Share Somewhere. The job is to help us research venue listings for the platform in your local area. We want to find out all about spaces at a local level – green spaces; youth work venues; community spaces; charity spaces; music venues; business spaces, to build a picture of the spaces that are available, & that could be hired through Share Somewhere.

So what is Share somewhere?

Share Somewhere is a game-changing tool for communities that need spaces. It is an online database of venues – think AirBnB for communities – which aims to liberate underused spaces, making it easy for people to find them & use them for great activities. It’s easy-to-use & open to all. As well as connecting people who need spaces to the right venues, Share Somewhere also allows community groups to advertise their empty spaces, manage bookings, take payments online, & enjoy the fact their space is being well used.

This Community Ambassador job is about encouraging those spaces that are available to get listed on the Share Somewhere website, either by showing spaces how to do it themselves, or by doing it for them.

As a bonus part of this role, you will dedicate 2 hours a week to getting involved with Youth Voice opportunities with The Mix. These are conversations that give young people a voice on the issues that matter to them.

This is a paid opportunity that can be done anywhere in the country. It’s also part of  the Kickstart scheme, so it you apply, you need to do so through the job centre and you need to be eligible (see details in ‘How to apply’).

For further info, you can email [email protected] directly.

There is no application deadline, this role is available on an ongoing basis.
