Support The Mix’s Loneliness Campaign

For many of us all over the UK the last year has been tough. The COVID outbreak has made it harder to be with others and many young people have experienced the negative affects of isolation and lock down.

At The Mix, we have an exciting opportunity for you to get involved.

We are looking for people aged 13 - 25 to submit a short video with their tips on how to combat loneliness. Whether that's video chats, cooking, reading or having a pet, we'd like to hear from you. Submitting a video will give you the chance to win a £50 Amazon voucher!

Help connect young people

Throughout the past 12 months, whether we’ve been talking about isolation, money or bullying, the issue of loneliness has been bought up by the young people that support the Mix. With the ongoing pandemic making it more difficult to see and meet other people we know that we need to do something about it, which is why we need your help.

About This Project

Last year, we created a video featuring 100 different people displaying their ideas on how to deal with lock down and isolation. The video reached over 1300 young people and shared many brilliant tips and tricks to stay positive even when trapped inside. We want to recreate this success and allow 100 people to share their ‘tips to improve your well being and combat loneliness,’ which is where you come in.

We’re looking to see what makes you feel connected. So it would be great if you could record a short video telling us

  • Your best way of combating loneliness
  • How you stay connected with your friends and family
  • What you like to do for fun
  • How you maintain your well being
  • If you have any ways of meeting new people at the moment
  • or if you have any tips for accepting loneliness.

We want hear what works for you, and what makes you feel better during these difficult times.

If you are interested in sharing your ideas you can get involved by submitting a short video following the instructions in the ‘How it all works’ section.

You do not need to show your face, you could instead film the activity that helps you.

Deadline for submissions: Wednesday 31st March
