The Mix is the UK’s leading digital charity for under 25s, reaching over 6 million young people each year. Whatever issue a young person is facing, The Mix is always there for them – via our website, over the phone or via social media. Our support is free, confidential and anonymous and can be accessed wherever young people are.

We offer free, online telephone and chat counselling to children and young people aged 13-25 years for up to 8 weeks.

Our counsellors are provided with two online Saturday training sessions to ensure that they are ready and able to apply their skills to our organisation.

We will cover:

  • Safeguarding
  • Confidentiality
  • How to use our systems.
  • Plus, any concerns or questions you may have will be covered during your training and throughout your volunteering.

We invest in our counsellors by providing free monthly or fortnightly supervision, as well providing full training and induction periods. We also offer opportunities to upskill, receive training, and chances to network with peers and professionals in your field. Plus, you’ll be able to receive a full personalised reference after 6 months of active volunteering.

If you want to make a difference to young people’s lives and provide short term interventions to young people who might be accessing a counselling service for the first time, we want to hear from you!
