Want to volunteer at home and make a positive difference to the lives of young people?

We have a team of Helpline Digital Connectors – volunteers who give 2.5 hours a week from the comfort of their own home, around the UK, to support our digital channels.

The Mix is the UK’s leading digital charity for under 25s, reaching over 6 million young people each year. Whatever issue a young person is facing, The Mix is always there for them – via our website, over the phone or via social media. Our support is free, confidential and anonymous and can be accessed wherever young people are.

Our volunteers are always there for young people when they feel they have nowhere else to turn, so if you want to make a difference, this is the role for you!

Our helpline is open Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 4pm-11pm and we split our shifts into three hour slots (please note that not all slots require additional volunteers.) This role will support young people via chat and email.

We invest in our helpline volunteers by providing full training and induction periods. We also offer opportunities to upskill, receive trainingemotional support and practical support from an assigned member of staff, and support with your development with additional training opportunities, as well as being updated about any other opportunities at The Mix. Plus, you’ll be able to receive a full personalised reference after 24 shifts.

Please note for this role you’ll require a competent level of computer literacy. If you are not confident with using a computer with multiple programs active then please consider applying for one of our other roles.
