Inside my mind

I may not know much about love, but I know I love music.

Hi, I am moving all the posts from the The Mix’s sister website Madly In Love to Your Voices.

Music has been a very important part of my life for a long time and I feel it's an incredibly powerful thing. I suffer from clinical depression and panic disorder and sometimes I feel like I wouldn't be here today without music. It seems so very cheesy and cliched but it's true.

Having a mental illness is very complicated and often hard for others to understand but I can always rely on music to be there for me. I think finding a song that perfectly relays what you're feeling is really special, and a lot of these songs are incredibly powerful to me. Feeling such a great impact from these songs is important when I feel like I don't really have anything else. My music taste is also very varied; I can go from listening to something 'metalcore' like "Hospital for Souls" to something 'folk-y' like "I Like Giants".

Some people might say that 'sad' songs make you feel worse but they comfort me, and make me feel like i'm not alone. I don't really know much about love, but I know that I love music.
