It can be tough when a relationship ends but let these songs remind you - you will survive!

Hi, I am moving all the posts from the The Mix’s sister website Madly In Love to Your Voices.

These songs have helped me feel more human throughout a process of beginnings, awkward middles, and some unfortunate ends but an optimistic conclusion. When a relationship fails - as all mine have - no matter how strongly I've felt that I won't get over it, I always do. The final songs on the playlist are a reminder of this.

'It's my Life' by Talk Talk is a cautionary song that sums up the vulnerability that exists amidst passionate feelings in a relationship.

I chose 'The Killing Moon' for its romance as much as its ominous overtones; the beauty of a fateful endeavour.

'Crazy for you' by Best Coast is upbeat, fun and dance-able; the perfect tune for dancing around the living room in celebration of a relationship that is far from perfect.

When we fall, we fall hard - Barbara Streisand's 'Woman In Love' emphatically encapsulates this.

'Gorecki' by Lamb encapsulates the euphoria of special moments with a significant other.

'Every Little Counts' is a lighthearted yet sad tune about a relationship that has hit the rocks.

'Nightporter' is a beautiful acknowledgement of how love's promise can effect us, even in its demise.

'Song to the siren'. When love is gone, but the memories live on, this is a haunting melody of yearning.

On the flip side, we have to find our own strength eventually and this rockin' cover of 'I will survive' is sure to have you dancing around the living room again. The song's breakdown is cathartic, the perfect therapy after a break-up!

Moving on, our optimism renewed, Kate Bush's 'King of the Mountain' is an accompaniment to finding love again. Summed up by the lyrics: "Love is out there hiding somewhere, looking like a happy man."

The final tune represents complete contentedness in a wonderful relationship. I will play this at my wedding.
